Morro Rock

When I was young I wondered what the big deal was about this rock, sitting center-stage in Morro Bay California! Why did so many people come to see a such a big, boring lump of lava?

Then I did my first retreat with a Bible study group I had in Fresno and God gave me a vision of us girls climbing that rock.

We were scattered all over the place and one position was just as important as the other because each one of us had a different view and perspective.

The sister below was guiding the sister above, to let her know which way was easier. The sisters side by side were encouraging each other to keep going and not give up!

One of the ladies was sitting on a cleft, taking time to rest. Another was telling her sister below not to go the same way she did because it was too rocky and dangerous!

But we were/are on this journey TOGETHER lending a helping hand, no matter what; into the dark of the night, through a thunderous storm, and up to the glorious Light … we are all on our way to heaven and we can’t do it alone.

We don’t judge, compare, or speak negative. We love inspire, motivate and cheer each other on like sisters in Christ are called to do!

Today I can’t look at that rock without thinking that Jesus is the Rock, our strong foundation, and the only way to God!
